When There Are No Need For Words...

People say I look more like my mom (I think they only say that cuz we're both light skinned), however, when it comes to personality...I'm more like my dad. We're both quiet and get annoyed when people talk too much. My 4yr old nephew has also pointed out that we're both not very affectionate towards him (lol) compared to others in the family. It's not that we love him any less; it's just in our nature to hold back.

So I received my diploma in the mail at the end of August but only recently went out and bought a frame (I waited til graduation season because I knew there would be more frames to choose from). I decided to buy this nice black one that would go perfect amongst the other frames and furniture in my room. It has a small display case to the left of it where I hung my ASU 2010 tassel. After putting in my diploma, I was excited to show it off to my parents. They've seen my diploma before, so I wasn't showing that off.

First I showed it to my mom; she asked me where I bought it from and how much (as usual, lol). She said somethin else but I don't remember. Then I showed it to my dad. He didn't say anything. No "I'm proud of you", no questions, no comments. Just took it from my hand and observed it. There was this metal hanger attached at the top middle, used for hanging it on the racks at Target. He just told me that he'll remove that metal thing "sa-ike" (tomorrow). I was like "okay" and left it there on the table.

The next day, I came downstairs and walked into the kitchen cuz my mom had called me there for somethin. As I was walking out, I noticed my newly framed diploma on the wall. At first I was like WHOA. Was that there earlier? Aw man..I chose that frame specifically so it would match with the stuff in my room!! =( I continued to admire my beautiful frame, mounted alone on the wall for a few minutes, the whole time having no facial expression nor uttering a word. Probably looks like I was unaffected but I was smiling inside =). Ha. I really wanted to hang it in my room, but my dad wanted it to be proudly displayed where everyone would see it...in the living room/kitchen entryway. He's never congratulated me or really said anything about my degree...Aww shucks. IT HAS ITS VERY OWN WALL!! No need for words =)

Happy Birthday Pa!! (I didn't wish him a Happy B-day until 11:00pm last night even though me and my bro went and got him a cake earlier. Didn't celebrate it yet. He'd know that I care through my actions). =]
